Working With Algebraic Expressions There are three things you can do with Algebraic Expressions. If there are only numbers & operations you use Order of Operations to simplify. If there are variables and values given for the variables - you can evaluate the expressions. If there are variables but no values for the variables then you can simplify the expressions using the distributive property and combining like terms.
