21. Longshore Currents Flow Parallel to the Beach (C104.6)

When waves strike a shore at an angle, they move water forward along the shore. This movement of water parallel to the beach produces another type of shoreline current, called a longshore current. Longshore currents carry large amounts of beach material from one place to another.
