Quickscan software

Study scan --Dyslexia screening, aimed at HE students. Not appropriate for our students.

 

Quickscan - Site license - ALL sites, Wandsworth has a bug, awaiting installation at Putney. (appropriate for our students). Should take 15-20 minutes to assess.

 

Version available for deaf students!

 

Should quickscan be used for all students? Yes, AND staff! If results show lots of dyslexics, can we support?

Possibly administered in an IT session?

Support provision needs implementing now, planning for next year now.

Expansion, Resources & Rooming

More staff development needed, short, sharp input.

Planning Assessments for Next Year

Viv Hill - part of the mentoring scheme, trainee Ed Psyche. on site. Start in September, Gail to talk to Viv.

Staff Development

Andy to do training course next year.

Bolt-on course, QCA assessment qualification, standardisation.

Bring trainer in from outside.

Visit Lewisham to see dyscalcular provision -  P.Mayhew-Smith.

Numeracy provision - expansion - Andy Liddicoat.

Equal Opps needs to be discussed during admin week.

Materials from other sections e.g. ESOL.

Meetings should be claimed against A/S budget.

Rates of Pay for VTs

£19.00 per hour, less than other colleges/agencies. Full time post preferable.

ITEM 6

Support for H.E. Students

H.E. Support, nothing really available, difficult to access funding. Local Authority will allow billing if student is statemented. Look at top-slicing.
