VACATION SLIDE SHOW

 

1. You are going on a vacation this weekend (You can pretend you have no school Friday).  Your assignment is to create a PowerPoint show that will advertise your vacation.  The daily weather, information on the hotel, map, 3 activities to do there need to be included on your slides.  You may choose any city in the world but if you choose a city in the USA, it is easier to find pictures and information on that city. 

 

2. Your PowerPoint should have at least six slides or more with graphics on each slide. 

Slide 1: Title of your Vacation with your name (Virginia Beach Vacation by Mr. Hostetter)

 

Slide 2: Map of the country or map of driving directions by car (Use mapquest.com)

1.     For cities outside of the USA (Cancun, Mexico), go to mapquest.com and click on maps. Choose the name of the country.  Copy the map to your PowerPoint as well as the website address (URL). 

2.     For USA cities, go to mapquest.com and click on directions.  Enter your address as the starting point and enter the city and state as the ending point.  Copy the map to your PowerPoint as well as the website address (URL). 

 

Slide 3: Picture, description (Copy the Property Amenities which are listed at the bottom of the hotel page) and price of Hotel at the city using www.hotels.com

 

Slide 4: Weather for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at Virginia Beach.  Use www.weather.com and type in the name of the city or country.  Click on the link that says weekend.  Copy the weather using the screenshot (Apple + Shift + Control + 4) to your PowerPoint. 

 

Slide 5: List 3 Activities with pictures and animations to do at the city (Concerts, Sports events, attractions, amusement parks etc.)  You can search using www.google.com for activities by typing in the name of your city and add attractions after it (Virginia Beach attractions)

 

Slide 6: Credits page that list all the websites you got pictures and sounds from. 

 

3. Add at least 2 animations to your PowerPoint.  Go to www.animationlibrary.com and download two powerpoints to your documents.  To download the file, click on the picture with your mouse and choose download image to disk.  Open up PowerPoint.  Click on Insert and choose picture from file. The animations will only play when you show the PowerPoint! 

 

4. When you are finished, make sure your name and period is on your title page of your PowerPoint.  Get your teacher’s approval before printing your PowerPoint!   

 

5. Click on File and choose print. 

6. Click on the arrow beside the words general and choose Background Printing.  Click on background. 

6. Click on the arrow beside the words general and choose Microsoft PowerPoint.   

7. Click on the arrow beside the words slides and choose Handouts (6 slides per page).  Click on Print.
