Dear Student,

Are you ready to discover more about the man who created the software that we use almost every day in our daily in your lives? You will read over three websites that will help you decide which factors you think are the most important ones that help Bill Gates achieve such a highly successful life.

There are five daily tasks at hand for you to work on to create your well formatted essay which should address the project’s writing prompt. You will be able to complete various tasks for the next five days in order to compose/format your essay report properly.

We will review the writing process as a class to make sure you are able to complete all tasks for this project.

Organize your thoughts using graphical organizer software called Inspiration.

View the video as needed to gain ideas and motivations needed to write a well-typewritten response about the writing prompt.
Read and take notes/develop a graphical organizer as you find main ideas to deal with the writing prompt.

Remember in the end, the goal is for you to provide to the teacher a well-written and formatted essay to address this project's writing prompt.

Compose your initial essay draft using your graphical organizer notes.

Print a hard copy to reread and consider revising your essay message and then give a copy of your essay to the teacher.

The teacher will give you an initial grade on your essay before editing it for you.

Complete a step-by-step word processing activity in order to finalize your Bill Gates essay project on day 5.

Finalize your essay and revise your work according to the teacher comments on your work.

Utilize the rubric provided for the essay project and make sure you have met all the requirements and expectations of this 5 day project of activities.

Turn in all work (graphical organizer, initial essay, and the final copy of your essay).

GETTING STARTED

Click each of the days' links presented below and work faithfully on each daily activity until you have a finalized essay to your best ability. It is very important for you to maintain backup copies of your electronic work. Always print hard copies of each assignment for the teacher to analyze as needed.

Finally, as you learned about Bill Gates and what he did as a young person, strive to be a critical and creative thinker as you work to complete all the assigned activities. I am asking you to do your best and always seek help when you don't understand a task.
