Subject: 	Algebra This Week (2/14)

Algebra Parents:

This week we are completing our unit on Powers and Exponents (Chapter 8
 in Larson textbook). We'll have a quiz on Tuesday and a Unit Test on
 Thursday. The students took two subject quizzes last week and got both
 of them back, so you should ask to see how they did. Also they took a
 notebook quiz. The scores on the notebook quiz were generally very
 low. Please ask your children how they did on this quiz. I reiterated
 to them what my expectations for their notebooks were in the mid-year
 adjustments handout I gave them (see
 http://www.quia.com/files/quia/users/ronbrown/01-28). It is critical
 that their study skills improve in such areas as maintaining an
 organized and complete notebook, coming to class prepared and having a
 system for recording homework assignments.
