Activity 2:                                          /32

Write a multi-paragraph “monologue” based on Andy’s death and the gang situation.

A monologue is a speech spoken by one person. Your monologue should be a “stream of consciousness”, meaning that it is the internal thoughts of one character, not thoughts that would be expressed out loud. The monologue should critically explore the situation in the story and your character’s feelings toward it. You can write from one of the following viewpoints:

·      Andy
·      Laura
·      The Guardian who stabbed Andy
·      Andy’s mother or father
·      The police officer
·      Another member of the Royals

A monologue is written in first person narration (using “I”).  Your monologue will be marked using the Grade 10 Quick Scale:  Writing Personal Views or Response.
