Play Procedures Checking Answers To order the list, enter the appropriate number into the text box next to each entry.  To check your answers, click Check answers below the game list. For each entry you order correctly, you will receive a green check mark. For each entry you order using a hint, you will receive a black "H". For each entry you order incorrectly, you will receive a red "X". In this example, the player has alphabetically ordered six entries correctly, two entries using hints, and two entries incorrectly. 1   Apple 2   Banana 3   Cranberries 4   Grapes 6   Nectarine 7   Orange   Mango   Pear 9   Strawberries 10   Watermelon Attempts Available The author of this activity may have chosen to limit the number of attempts you have to win the game.  The number of gold stars displayed beneath the table indicates the number of attempts you have left.  If you run out of attempts before ordering the list correctly, your game will end and you will receive a message saying, "Sorry, try again!"  You can then click Start over. If you have an unlimited number of attempts you may keep playing until you find the correct order and win the game. In this example, the player has only two attempts available. Attempts available: Hints Available If the author of this activity chose to give you hints to solve the puzzle, then the Hints Available section will show you the number of hints you have for the puzzle.  To receive a hint, simply click Give me a hint!. If the author did not choose to allow hints for this game, you will not see a Hints Available section. In this example, the author chose to give five hints for the game.  The player has used two hints, and has three hints remaining. Hints available: Reordering You may reorder your answers at any point during the game by clicking Reorder answers below the game list.  Reordering the list will rearrange the entries according to the order you have entered.  However, reordering the list will not provide any feedback to indicate correct or incorrect answers.  Reording the list may help you to gain a better perspective of the game list and the order you have entered. Using the I give up! Show me the answers Button The author of this activity may have chosen to provide an I give up! Show me the answers button. Clicking on the button will end the game and display the correct answer to each question.  You can click on the button at any time during the game. Winning Ordered List To win the game, you must put the list in the correct order before running out of attempts.  When you have correctly ordered the list, you will receive a message saying, "You Win!" After you win a game you can either return to Quia's home page by clicking on the Quia Home link at the top of the page, or you can click Start Over to play Ordered List again!
