Use the Internet links to find the answers to the questions on the Scavenger Hunt List before running out of attempts.


Play Procedures

Internet Links
You can search for an answer using an Internet link by clicking on the magnifying glass next to the link. This will open a new browser window in which you can search for the answers to the questions on the Scavenger Hunt List. Be sure to close the browser window after you have found the answer.

Answering Questions
To answer a question, type the correct answer in the text box provided. Although the game ignores capitalization and spacing, you must spell your answer correctly. When you are ready to check your answers, click Check answers.
  • For each correct answer, you will receive a green check mark.
  • For each incorrect answer, you will receive a red "X".
In this example, the player has answered two questions correctly and four questions incorrectly.

Attempts Available
The author of this activity may have chosen to limit the number of attempts you have to win the game.  Each time you check your answers you use an attempt.  The number of gold stars displayed beneath the Scavenger Hunt List indicates the number of attempts you have left.  If you run out of attempts before answering the questions correctly, your game will end and you will receive a message saying, "Sorry, try again!"  You can then click Start over.

If you have an unlimited number of attempts you may keep playing until you answer all of the questions correctly, or click I give up! Show me the answers.

Using the I give up! Show me the answers Button
The author of this activity may have chosen to provide an I give up! Show me the answers button. Clicking on the button will end the game and display the correct answer to each question. You can click on the button at any time during the game.

Using Foreign Language Keypads
If you are playing a game in French, German, or Spanish, the person who created the game may have included a keypad for letters and other special characters. You may include the special characters in your answer by clicking on the character buttons when entering your answer. The foreign language keypads appear as follows:



Winning Scavenger Hunt
To win the game you must correctly answer all of the questions on the Scavenger Hunt List before running out of attempts. Once you find all of the correct answers, a message will appear saying, "You Win!" At this point you can either return to the Quia Home page by clicking on the Quia Home link at the top of the page, or you can click Start over to play Scavenger Hunt again!
