| resolution | The ending of a story that wraps up all the loose ends. |
| falling action | The action that takes place after the climax. Often the main character learns something or comes to a new understanding. |

| exposition | The introduction to the story where the author introduces the character, setting, and conflicts. |
| rising action | When the character tries to solve the problem, but fails. |
| setting | The time, place, or historical period in a story. |
