Picturing the Scientific Revolution
Use this activity to practice recognizing the major discoveries that occurred during the Scientific Revolution.

Anatomy of the Body,  | Andreas Vesalius began created the first textbook on this subject. It helped people understand how the body works. |
Geocentric Theory,  | The idea that the Earth is the center of the Solar System. |
Heart,  | William Harvey discovered this was a pump that kept the circulation system moving. |
Heliocentric Theory,  | The Sun is the center of the Solar System |
Microscope,  | Used to discover bacteria, viruses, and disease |
Gravity,  | Isaac Newton proved that objects fall at a constant rate. |
Printing Press,  | Used to get the "word" out, and helped spread the scientific revolution |
Questioning Attitude,  | This helped drive much of the discovery during the scientific revolution and was a direct threat to the Catholic Church |
Scientific Method,  | Created by Francis Bacon to help scientists find answers using logical procedures. |
