Words About Sentences

You don't need to be a walking encylcopedia of grammar rules in order to be a good writer. If you have done a lot of reading and writing so far in life, you probably know the correct syntax for effective writing, even if you can't identify the technical, grammatical rule.

However, to talk about writing as we will be doing this semester, you do need to know some terminology that I will be using. I suggest you get to know these words. These words will help you discuss writing at the sentence level.
