Parts of a Plot
Students will need to list and give definitions for the five parts of a plot.

| Exposition | Usually found in the beginning of a story, it explains the background and setting of the story. |
| Rising Action | This describes the conflict leading up to the climax |
| Climax | This is the turning point in the action of the story. It is generally the most intense and exciting part of the story. |
| Falling Action | These are the events leading to the resolution. |
| Resolution | The solution to the conflict. |
