Processional torches,  | The candles the sit on the altar that are used as part of the procession and recession. |
| Processional cross | The cross that leads the procession and recession |
| Pulpit | The podium where the Word is read and preached |
| Pascal candle | Tall candle that symbolizes the eternal life and presence of Christ |
| baptism font | The bowl of water where baptisms are performed |
| Order of Confession and Forgiveness | Often used at the beginning of the service, before the bidding bell. |
| Prayer of the Day | Prayer before the Word is read |
| hymn of the day | The hymn that follows the sermon |
| Sign of Peace | Time during the service when the people share the peace of the Lord. |
| Offering | Collection of gifts for the poor and for God's mission |
| Offertory | Song that accompanies the bringing forward of the collection |
| Offertory Prayer | Prayer following the collection. |
| The Great Thanksgiving | The prayer over the bread and wine |
| Post Communion Canticle | The song sometimes sung after the conclusion of communion |
| Benediction | The closing words of blessing |
| Central Narthex | The entrance area outside of the doors to the nave and sanctuary where people gather before and after service. |
| South Narthex | The area lies to the right of the nave and sanctuary as you face the doors. |
| North Narthex | Often seen as the main entrance to church. |
| Vesting Sacristy | This room is located off of the central narthex. In this room Hosanna stores robes, hymnal bookracks, ignitors for candles, and music equipment. This is where the worship leaders and assistants robe and prepare for worship. |
| Sacristy | This room is located just off the santuary, on the northeast side of the building. This is where communion is prepared. |
| Counting Room | This room is located on the southeast side of the nave. |
| Credence Table | This table stands to the left of the organ console. We place the bread, wine and the collected offering on it. |
| Presiding Minister | This is the pastor who says the Words of Instituion and ensures that the service moves smoothly and generally leads the worship. |
| Cantor | The one who arranges for and oversees the musical and liturgical practices of the congregaton |
| Acolyte | These persons, of all ages, serve in assisting with lights, communion and offering. |
| Lector | Persons of all ages who read the lessons. |
| Assisting Minister | They lead certain prayers, set the communion table and generally assist in conducting in the service. |
