New England, Middle, Southern Colonies Brochure Project
You will create a brochure for one of the three colonial regions assigned by the teacher. Use your Social Studies textbook, library resources and the Internet to help you gather your research information. You must show the teacher completed research and plan before you can start on the creation of your brochure. In other words, you cannot start making your brochure until research is completely done!!! Class time on this project will be limited; therefore you will have to some work outside of class, such as during lunch or after school.
Your brochure should demonstrate your knowledge on the following information:
Geography
•What are the colonies in your region?
•Where are they located?
•What are the major geographical features of that area?
Founding
•Who founded each of the colonies?
•What was the reason for their founding?
•When were they founded?
•What type of government did they have?
Culture
•Where did most people from this colony come from?
•What languages were spoken?
•What was their religion?
Economy
•What was their livelihood?
Other Interesting Facts
•What are some things that are interesting about your region?
Grading
This project is worth 50 points.
