Hello Parents,
In the month of May we honor, Mary our Mother. During Religion, we will pray a decade of the rosary before we begin our lesson.
This is a big month for our second graders. They will be receiving their First Holy Communion on May 12th. We have two services 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Please check your time on the schedule. The children will practice during our school hours. There will NOT be an evening practice.
Our class will be performing an act at the Talent Show on May 3rd at 7:00 p.m. in the parish hall. They will sing and dance to the classic 70’s song “Car Wash.” I ask that they wear a
white t-shirt and jeans or shorts. See you there!
We have another great field trip to the Guadalupe Rose Garden in San Jose on May 11 @ 9:00 A.M. The children will • Dissect a rose and see the reproductive parts of a flower • Visit the Historic Orchard to discover why we need pollinators • Enter the world of bugdom – see garden helpers and pollinators up close • Learn about the life cycle of insects.
In Math will begin a new chapter on Fractions and Probability. We will still be practicing subtraction facts 10-18.
Our class will also be in charge of the last school mass of the year on May 27 at 9:00 a.m. This will be extra special because the children will also be receiving their first communion with the school community for the first time.
