We will begin planting our seeds in our garden in the morning. We will be growing plants inside and outside of the classroom and comparing their growth. The children are very excited about the garden. Thanks to all the wonderful parents who have donated items, money, time, (lots of it), etc. We really would've had a hard time getting the garden started without you. We will have our plant test next Friday, the 31st of August.
Next week we will begin our study of Texas... including maps, settlement, regions, cultures, etc. This will be on-going. We will also be reading a book about settlers in Texas.
Our math concentration next week will be decimals to the thousandths place.
The students will get their spelling word pre-test on Monday. We will also be learning about different forms of poetry and linking it in with our studies of plants and Texas.
Things are really coming along well. Remember to check your child's planner each night.
I apologize for not having my web-page running for a few days this week. There was a glitch in the system. I also plan on experimenting with some other web-sites for a different kind of web-page later on. But for now, this one will serve us well.
