GENERAL INFO - UPCOMING CURRICULUM/UPCOMING TESTS/UPCOMING PROJECTS/HELPFUL HINTS:
RELIGION: We be reviewing the meaning of week three of Advent.
MATH: We finished chapter 10 last week - Double Digit Multiplication. Use my links, flashcards, or print tests from my website for home (Useful Links) - Scroll to the very bottom of this page for our math series practice website - Harcourt and other helpful math websites.
SCIENCE: We finished our unit on "The Changing Land".
A/R - ACCELERATED READER: Deadline Friday - 12/18. Students should be reading nightly to achieve their goals. A/R goal achievement is worth 25 points of the reading grade. Please note we will not be printing quiz TOPS reports here at school. You can see results on "Home Connect".
SCHOLASTIC: No Scholastic due this week. These are given to students on Monday mornings and are due on Fridays. Students are to read all articles and then take the quiz at end of newsletter. This is a reading comprehension grade that I will give to Mrs. Smith. At times, I will also take a Social Studies grade for the map skills page (I will also give this to Mrs. Smith). Please be sure your child actually reads the articles and does not just guess on the answers, or does not try to complete all at the last minute. This generally results in a poor grade.
DAILY GRAMS: Daily Gram due Friday
JOURNAL: Journal is due this week. Students will be asked to write a "hamburger" paragraph in response to the prompt below. The final draft is due Friday. Please encourage your child to always go through the proper "writing process" which includes a rough draft! Proper heading required. See Hamburger Method & grading criteria below
