Description
9th Grade Computers
Objective: This course
focuses on developing advanced graphics and illustration skills. Industry leading
software for image-editing and vector graphics will be emphasized. The class
is project based, emphasizing collaborative learning by integrating cross curriculum
activities while utilizing acquired computer skills.
Materials: Adobe PhotoShop
Adobe Illustrator Time Allotment: 45 minutes per day, four days a week
Course Content: This course will include instruction in the following areas:
Adobe Photoshop is the image-editing program of choice for those
working with high-quality images. Adobe Photoshop lets you manipulate scanned
photolithographs, slides and original artwork in a variety of ways for a variety
of uses.
Adobe Illustrator is one of the most popular illustration software
programs sold today. Creating artwork, shapes, blends, patterns, layouts and
special effects are all a part of the Illustrator package.
Areas to be evaluated:
Individual projects, integrated cross curriculum projects, tests, quizzes.
Additional Activities: Students will have in-class time to do Internet
and computer based encyclopedic research for various computer and non-computer
projects.
