Here is where you will find information for the current unit and current, previous, and upcoming week. For past units and assignments, I will be "archiving" information in Google Classroom.

Weekly Reminders:

  • Intro to DNA Molecules scavenger hunt is due for Unit 6A notebook check.
  • Complete this form if you need transportation to CHS to take the AP Biology or AP Microeconomics tests if May 4 is not a school day.
  • Watch 12-II video lecture Tuesday night.
  • Watch 12-III video lecture Wednesday night.
  • Watch 12-IV video lecture Thursday night.
  • DNA/RNA packet due Monday.
  • Work on Unit 6A Wonders (6.1-6.4, 6.7 and Lab 1) over the weekend.

Monday, January 26: Grading Day - No School!

Tuesday, January 27:
In Class: Warm ups. Count flies, if they have emerged. If not, model DNA replication.
Homework: Watch 12-II video lecture, and read the corresponding pages in the textbook.

Wednesday, January 28: Early Release
In Class: Warm ups. Model DNA replication, if not done yesterday.
Homework: Watch 12-III video lecture, and read the corresponding pages in the textbook.

Thursday, January 29:
In Class: Warm ups. Model transcription. Receive and begin working on DNA/RNA packet.
Homework: Watch 12-IV video lecture, and read the corresponding pages in the textbook.

Friday, January 30:
In Class: Warm ups. Count flies, if emerged. Work on DNA/RNA packet.
Homework: DNA/RNA packet is due Monday. Work on 6A Wonders: 6.1-6.4 and 6.7 and Lab 1.

 

Next week:

Monday, February 2:
In Class: DNA/RNA packet due. Warm ups. Complete the It's All Relative activity. Begin to work on the Insulin worksheet.
Homework: Watch 12-V video lecture, and read the corresponding pages in the textbook.

Tuesday, February 3:
In Class: DNA/RNA packet GRACE. Warm ups. Model the process of translation. Continue working on the Insulin worksheet.
Homework: Watch 13-III video lecture, and read the corresponding pages in the textbook.

Wednesday, February 4:
In Class: Warm ups. Count fruit flies. If there's time, work on the Insulin worksheet.
Homework: Work on Unit 6A Wonders (6.1-6.4, 6.7, and Lab 1)

Thursday, February 5:
In Class: It's All Relative and Insulin worksheet due. Warm ups. Complete the DNA to Protein lab.
Homework: Watch sickle cell video.

Friday, January 30:
In Class: It's All Relative and Insulin worksheet GRACE. Warm ups (top tens). Complete the Mutations activity with dice.
Homework: Work on Lab 1 (and Wonders, if you have time).

 

Last Week:

Monday, January 19: MLK, Jr. Day - No School!

Tuesday, January 20:
In Class: Introduction to DNA scavenger hunt in your notebook.
Homework: Study for final exam.

Wednesday, January 21: Special Schedule
In Class: 30 minute class to study and relax (2:40-3:11 pm).
Homework: Study for final exam.

Thursday, January 22:
In Class: 10:35 am final exam starts.
Homework: Complete the semester evaluation.

Friday, January 23: 3rd and 4th period finals: no class
Homework: Watch 12-I video lecture, and read the corresponding pages in the textbook.
