Ms. Kacher is one of the senior Medical Science teachers at the DeBakey High School for Health Professions. She holds undergraduate degrees in Allied Health Science, Psychology, and Anthropology. Her graduate degree is in Behavioral Science with a focus in medical anthropology. She has taught medical science courses since 1997 and worked as a clinical instructor throughout Houston’s Texas Medical Center.
Before teaching high school, Ms. Kacher worked at Baylor College of Medicine in cardiovascular research and taught medically related courses at the college level.
Some of Ms. Kacher’s outside interests include: reading, canoing, forensic anthropology, herbal compounding, computer multimedia, birding, and curriculum writing.

- To examine the engineering research method as it applies to medical technology
- To promote innovative thought and application in global health biotechnology
- To increase awareness of legal and ethical issues associated with developing new medical technologies

- To prepare young adults for college
