Reminder to students: I will accept late assignments without point deductions only in extreme circumstances. Please see me if you are having difficulty completing an assignment. If you have any questions about late work policies, please refer to your "rules and expectations" form in your binder.
We are currently working on all forms of business communication. Activities include preparing memos, business letters, agendas, meeting minutes, and press releases. The next unit will be about international business customs. It will be research based and students will prepare their research in the form of a PowerPoint presentation. All of these activities will be completed in class. These units will last through approximately May 10.
Students will need one binder (two inches) paper, pencil, pen, highlighter, and 12 dividers.
If students want, they may purchase additional organizing supplies such as sheet protectors, post it notes or flags, folders, and binder clips.
Course fee is $6.00. Please bring exact change or checks made to Marion Senior High School. Course fees are due by September 7.
Students are expected to keep their materials organized. Good organizational skills are necessary to be an effective administrative assistant.
A positive attitude, strong work ethic, flexibility, motivation, an open mind, and regular attendance are also necessary to be successful in this class!
In "regular ed" classes, students have a list of Standards of Learning. In Career and Technical Education classes, students have a list of competencies. I have provided a link to the list of competencies. Check out all the valuable information you will learn this year!
