It remains, as well, one of the most controversial in terms of diagnosis and treatment approaches. Recently, the fields of molecular genetics and neurochemistry are beginning to shed some real light as to the complexities, and actualities of this important disorder. This course in the series will provide the learner with the latest research concerning the biological underpinnings of this difficult disorder. Goals and Objectives - To explore the current research in molecular genetics and to identify how genes affect the brain, behavior and cognitive processes of an individual who suffers from ADHD.
- To explore the current research in neurochemistry and identify how neurochemicals and other neuronal cell structures affect the cognitive processes of an individual who suffers from ADHD.
- To explore the current research in neuroanatomy and to identify the underlying brain areas thought to be affected in individuals who suffer from ADHD.
