His full name is Michael Jeffrey Jordan. He was born February 17, 1963 in Brooklyn, New York. He is 38 years old and played 13 seasons with the Chicago Bulls and is currently playing for the Washington Wizards. He went to Laney High School in Wilmington, North Carolina. He went to North Carolina University where as a freshman, won the NCAA championship by hitting the winning shot against Georgetown.
Michael Jordan is a great inspiration to me and anyone else who plays the game of Basketball. He is my hero for many reasons. Jordan has many awards for his accomplishments by his will power.
All through his life there has been many obstacles in his path of life and he has cleared everyone of them and has never given up. Even though he was born in New York, Jordan had a dream to play for North Carolina and then to go on and play in the NBA. No one can take your dreams away and he has proven that. Despite how busy he is, he has always found time for his family and fans.
So who is he, what has he achieved, why is he the greatest athlete? I think this pretty much explains it all. If you ask me, I would say he is the greatest role model too. My dream is to follow in his footsteps. So in a way he is like another father to me and not just my hero.
