Week of February 25 to March 1
On Tuesday the musical group HOJA will be giving a performance at 2:00 in the gym. All students are asked to bring $2.00 to help cover the costs.
Intramurals on Thursday is Cougars vs Leopards.
For the Grade Ones, Friday is our 100th day of school. The Grade Ones will be doing lots of special 100 day activities. The studnets will be asked to bring in a collection of 100 objects on that day.
Subject Highlights
1. Language-
Gr. 1 - We will be looking at the shy sounds wr, kn and the sound unit ind. We will be reading about penguins.
Gr. 2 - W e will be reading Indian legends and practicing our retelling skills. We will be reviewing all the words we have studied since the beginning of December.
2. Math -
Gr. 1 - We will be counting collections of 100 by 1's, 5's and 10's as we get ready for our 100th day of school.
Gr. 2 - We will continue practicing two digit addition with and without regrouping. Then we will be counting above 100.
3. Social -
Gr. 1 - We are working on our family booklet and comparing our family pictures.
Gr. 2 - We will continue to learn about the different areas of Canada.
4. Science -
Gr. 1 - We are building houses and comparing them.
Gr. 2 - We will be looking at how buildings are heated. Students are asked to check out the heating systems in their homes.
