Mission Statement Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic School is dedicated to building up the Body of Christ by fostering the spiritual growth of our students in an emotionally safe and academically sound environment. Our school exists to educate students to be self-directed, life-long learners and faithful Disciples of Christ. Dear Parents, Happy Thanksgiving! I pray that you and your families enjoy this wonderful time of the year. We are wrapping up our unit on Native Americans and the Pilgrims. Students have shown great enthusiasm in math class, learning about geometry in our world. They used their critical thinking skills finding lines of symmetry in and out of our classroom. Our anti-bullying program was introduced and we have created a classroom bulletin board stating our promise to treat others as Jesus taught us - with dignity and respect for all. In reading we are identifying the author's purpose and setting. We continue to work on comprehension by identifying cause and effect relationships. Just a few reminders as we approach the beginning of the holiday season: *Faith in Action Christmas gifts can be brought into the classroom. *Please mark sweaters and sweatshirts with your child's name. *Homework packets and reading logs are due on Thursday. *Ask your child if they need more food for snack or lunch. We have snack everyday, including days with early dismissal. May your days be filled with the peace of God as we begin to prepare for the birth of Christ during the season of Advent. Sincerely, Mrs. Alpers ** Please check out a new website I have added. It contains the sight word lists in a Powerpoint. Your child can practice these on the computer! * The websites listed below are for our math series. It contains great activities and information.
