First, students need to be instructed on HOW TO BEGIN their class.
Use CLEAR instructions so students know exactly where to ENTER the class.
Give them STEPS to:
Find their classroom (a website address)
Understand HOW to SIGN ON
And are instructed just WHAT to do when they sign on.
In every lesson or assignment be sure to include:
A way to CONTACT you if they have questions (Email or Phone #)
Links to other pages and assignments. (Ex: Located at the bottom of this page under "Useful links.")
A link to their HOME page
Any RULES of the class. 
Ex: such as Attendance requirements, backing up of submitted work, and when they are to submit assignments or comlete tests.
Include YOUR response time and availability (24-48 Hours to grade or return a response, excluding holidays and weekends.)
*Note: A "Parent's Permission" form must be signed and completed BEFORE any student can begin class!
