Overview:
Thematic web pages can be used to support the teaching and learning of South Dakota content standards while engaging students in web based activities to develop deeper understandings of key concepts.
Inservice Tasks:
1. Review the thematic web page collection in the SDEdWeb;
2. Find a theme that fits your curriculum and explore it in greater detail; and/or
3. Select a theme or concept that you teach that is not listed and search the internet to find 10-12 links to support the topic. Keep a list of these Urls, the title, and a one sentence descriptor.
Follow Up:
Use the links as you teach the theme or concept during the next month.
Optional: (For those not taking the course for credit.) Complete and submit the RFP for Thematic Web Pages by Feb 15th.
Course Credit:
Complete and submit the RFP for Thematic Web Pages by Feb 15th. This will require work beyond the inservice session and will count towards one of the extra sessions that would otherwise need to be scheduled.
Special Note:
The RFP deadline has been extended from Jan 14th to Feb 15th.
