The Allen Memorial Planetarium is located on the grounds of Terre Haute South Vigo High School. The planetarium provides educational programming for the Vigo County School Corporation as well as school corporations from surrounding counties. Educational programming is also available for community groups either during regular school hours or on a limited basis in the evening.
The planetarium is open to the public several times during the year. The Seasonal Star programs are a 30 minute educational program presented the weekend before the change of seasons. The planetarium does present laser light shows several times during the year. These laser light shows are approximately 35 minutes long and there is a fee of $4.00 per adult and $2.00 for children 12 and under. The Halloween laser show is presented in October, the Holiday show in December and in the spring the laser show varies.
