Welcome to Mrs. Torre's 7th Grade Reading Web Page! This is going to be an exciting year of improving your reading skills. This page will be updated whenever there is a new assignment. Be sure to check out the various quizzes that you will find to better prepare you for your tests.
  Your grades will be based on tests, quizzes, book reports, projects, seatwork/homework, reading logs, & book reports.

  Book reports for 1st Quarter were due Sept. 23/24. Students were given a format to follow. See me if you lost yours.  2nd Quarter book reports will be due Nov. 7/8.  This will be a biography gendre.  Formats were distributed last week.
 
  Students have taken the Scholastic Reading Inventory to give me an idea of their reading level at this point in time.  They will take the test again at the end of the year to see what progress they have made.

  Our 2nd Quarter in-class novel is The House of Dies Drear. We will be using various methods of reading the novel-read-a-loud, group reading, etc.  When the students are done they will take the Reading Counts test in the Media Center.  I also purchased the video and they students will compare and contrast the book to the video.

 
   Week of Oct. 21-25:  Students will be taking their test on the short story "The War of the Wall."  The new short story is "Last Cover" (pp96-106).  They also have the new list words for Princeton Word Review.

   Please be checking agendas.   Remember that they only have one (1) week to do make-ups.
