As the date of my maternity leave draws near (Friday, April 4), I reflect on the past eight months and am eternally grateful for the many laughs I've shared with my students, the lessons my students have taught me, and the professional growth I've experienced as new technology was integrated into the classroom. It has been a wonderful school year and I once again feel extremely blessed to work in such an extraordinary community.

Ms. Annette Bochenek will teach my classes during my maternity leave. Having recently subbed another English teacher's maternity leave, she enters the classroom well informed of the school's day-to-day policies and will continue to uphold Saint Viator's mission. English Department Late Work Policy

If you are in the building on the day an assignment is due, you must turn the assignment into Mrs. Kottra by the start of class, regardless of whether you attend class or not.

Late work will be scored according to the following scale:

 Up to 24 hours late = 25 % deduction

 Over 24 hours late (2 days) = 50% deduction

 More than 2 days late = no credit

English Department Turnitin Policy

All students must use their Saint Viator email address for Turnitin. No other email address will be recognized nor permitted.

All major writing assignments, as well as others indicated by the teacher, must be submitted to Turnitin.

In order to receive full credit, students must submit a hard copy to the teacher on the due date, and the assignment must also be submitted to the Turnitin website by the time class begins. Failure to complete both steps will result in the assignment being counted as late.
