Hey, welcome to my site. I am bored are you? Well hope you enjoy my site and it is useful for you.TTYL, Aryn -- All the country information is listed under Georgia below. “Welcome to the National Gymnastics Championships in Georgia!... And from the Elite Gymnastics Academy in California, Brooke Morris and Aryn Stegemiller!” “Hey Brooke, did you notice on the way here that Georgia’s western side is bordered by the Black Sea?” asked Aryn. “Really?!” exclaimed Brooke, “I had no idea! But did you realize that Russia borders the entire northern half and Turkey, Armenia, and Azerbaijan border the southern half?!” “Wait a second,” said Aryn, “Is Georgia in Asia or Europe?” “Oh it’s definitely in Asia!” said Brooke confidently. “Brooke where’s that magazine you were reading yesterday?” questioned Aryn. “I’m not sure, but it was really interesting!” said Brooke. “I never knew the capital is Tbilisi or that the most popular sport is soccer,” said Brooke. “The religion is Georgian Orthodox. In that religion, they have a formal prayer service with a choir and the burning of incense. They have no pews or sermons, though, and women cover their heads while they are in church. Everybody speaks Georgian, unless you are like us, visiting from another country -- ha ha! They have a fairly small population of only 5.4 million and 56% of that population lives in urban areas.” “Hey, I heard Independence Day is coming up, but it’s not the 4th of July it’s only May. Is that true?” asked Aryn. “Yeah!” exclaimed Brooke. “Georgia’s Independence Day is May 26th, and that’s not the only holiday. They also celebrate St. Georgen’s Day on November 23rd, and they celebrate Christmas and Easter the same days as the United States. In September and October they celebrate grape harvest,” said Brooke. “I wonder what kinds of subjects they learn about in school...” said Aryn. “The magazine said they study geography, literature, history, physics, chemistry, choir, and foreign language,” said Brooke. “Brooke I’m getting a little but hungry, how about you?” said Aryn. “Yeah, I’m starving!” yelled Brooke. “Then let’s go eat!” said Aryn. “Hi! I’d like the satsive (chicken and walnut sauce), chanakhi (lamb and veggie stew), with pureed beets, and spinach sprinkled with pomegranate seeds.” ordered Aryn. “And I’d like to order tolma (minced meat wrapped in wine leaves), badrizhani nivit (eggplant with garlic),” said Brooke. “Aryn would you like to share the khachapun (baked cheese bread) as an appetizer?” asked Brooke. “Sure!” declared Aryn. “We have to also get wine because it’s an essential part of the Georgian meal.” “Would you like that for here or to go?” asked the waiter. “To go please. We have to get back to our gymnastics meet!” said Aryn. “Here’s your food. Enjoy your meal!” said the waiter. “Oh Aryn! Guess what else I remember from that magazine!” Brooke exclaimed. “What, what?!” said Aryn. Brooke continued, “The three major ways of making money are through industry, construction, and most of all, finance, and everything that goes along with it.” “Wow! That’s really neat! What kinds of natural resources do they have?” asked Aryn...” Oh wait...isn’t one gold?” “Yes!” said Brooke, “along with manganese, iron ore, coal and marble! The per capita GNP rate is about $560 in US dollars,” said Brooke. “Fascinating,” said Aryn. I’m getting kind of tired from the ride here. Do you want to go to the hotel to rest?” asked Brooke. “Sure, I’m tired too. I’m glad our tickets were $490 each, but leaving at 7:00am and sitting on a plane for nine hours and thirty-two minutes, just doesn’t work for me!” Aryn exclaimed. “Okay, well lets go catch the train,” said Brooke. “That sounds so weird. I can’t believe trains are the most common type of transportation, then highways, boats, and planes,” Aryn remarked. “Yeah, that is weird, but it’s because they are low on fuel here, and they don’t repair cards often,” Brooke stated. “Oh here’s the train, lets go!” Aryn declared. “OK, get on... “Wow! Those mountains are really pretty!” exclaimed Brooke. “Yeah...the conductor told me we would be passing by the Caucasus Mountains. Those are probably them. He also said that they are a famous landmark here in Georgia!” said Aryn. “I would love to ski or snowboard down them right now!” said Brooke. “Well, here we are!” said Aryn, “We better get a good nights sleep...big day tomorrow!” “Ah man! we have to leave already?!” said Brooke. “Yep stated Aryn. “Next time we will have time to go hiking in the mountains or sailing and fishing on the Black Sea.” sighed Brooke. “Well, we did very well at the competition. Hopefully we’ll do even better next year,” said Aryn. “Yeah, I’m hoping for a first place next time!” whispered Brooke as the two fell asleep.
