TAKS Reading - We will be finishing a unit on summarization. By the end of the week, we should begin a short unit on setting.
5/6 and 7/8 Reading - Students will learn about open (v) syllables and decode single- and multiple-syllable open-syllable "i" words. Original sentences over the spelling words are due Wednesday, February 10. A spelling test over open- syllable "i" words is scheduled for Thursday, February 11. Reading logs are due on Friday, February 5, and the students will have a test over the selection on Friday as well. Students are continuing to work through the Read Naturally program. Students are required to complete at least two selections in the Read Naturally program each week and will receive a weekly grade based on this requirement. For this six weeks' AR requirement, students should read at least 3 AR books and pass 3 AR tests.
TAKS Math - This week will continue working on counting money and subtracting money.
5/6 Math - This week we are continuing a unit on fractions. We will be comparing fractions using models and adding like fractions using models.
Theatre - This week we will continue working on characterization and developing different aspects of a character.
