Reading I, Reading II, and Reading III- We will continue working on decoding skills and the Read Naturally Fluency program. Students will receive a new reading log on Friday, February 3, and will have a quiz next Friday, February 10. Two book checks are due by Thursday, March 1, 2012.
Reading I - covering vowel-consonant-e syllables, long /a/. Original sentences due Wednesday, 2/8; word study test on Thursday 2/9.
Reading II - covering open syllables a and i. Original sentences due Wednesday, 2/8; word study test on Thursday 2/9.
Reading III - covering words with suffix "ed." Original sentences due Wednesday, 2/8; word study test on Thursday 2/9.
7 Language Arts - We will continue working on our writing program, Expressive Writing. We will work through the lessons each day focusing on sentence structure, editing, writing paragraphs, grammar, and punctuation.
Theatre - We will continue working on the One-act Play for presentation at the One-act Play Festival on Wednesday, February 29.
7 Pre-AP English - We will be covering infinitives and infinitive phrases. Practice exercises 1-2 covering infinitives and infinitive phrases are due on Wednesday, 2/8. A test over all verbals we have covered is scheduled for Thursday, 2/16. Additionally, we will be discussing developing a concluding paragraph for essay writing. A rough draft of a conclusion using the reverse of the inverted pyramid format is due on Friday, 2/10. We will also discuss and have some partner and group activities on expository text. Reminder: Two outside reading book checks are due by Thursday, March 1, 2012.
