This week we are studying -
Reading We are using our anthology - Ocean Quest. We are focusing on developing vocabulary, writing summaries and answering comprehension questions.
Spelling - Lesson 31 - Words containing the suffixes -eer, -ian, --ant, -ent and the spelling patterns and changes that occur with the suffix.
Grammar -We are working on recognizing adverbs, comparing them and using them as modifiers for verbs, adverbs and adjectives.
Writing - We are focusing on the business letter format and writing persuasively along with summarizing our reading articles.
Science - We are studying the many systems of the human body and how they work. This week we are working on learning the skeletal system and muscles.
Math - We are on Chapter 8 - Rate Tables, ratio and proportions, percent of a number, sovling word problems using per unit rates. We are also reviewing for our math final which will occur May 22, and May 23.
