WE WILL REVIEW FOR FINAL JUNE 8 - JUNE 15TH USE QUIA VOCABULARY FLASH CARDS TO HELP YOU REVIEW EACH CHAPTER.  THE FINAL WILL INCLUDE CHAPTERS FROM THE INTRO CHAPTER TO CHAPTER 7.

STUDY GUIDE

1. – ar ending verbs
-o -amos
-as -áis
-a -an
2. – er ending verbs
-o -emos
-es -éis
-e -en
3. – ir ending verbs
-o -imos
-es -ís
-e -en
4.   tener miedo - to be afraid/scared
tener prisa - to be in a hurry/rush
tener hambre - to be hungry
tener sed - to be thirsty
tener ganas de - to feel like
tener sueno - to be sleepy
tener … cumpleaños – to be …years old

5. de + el = del    and a + el = al
(contractions are only used when the definite article and noun are masculine and singular)
Example:  Yo voy al parque.  (parque is masc.  el parque therefore you contract)
      Yo voy a la clase (clase is fem. la clase therefore you do not contract)

6. ir a + infinitive  = voy a ….., vas a …, va a …, vamos a …., vais …, van a  …..

7. tener que + infinitive = tengo que …., tienes que …., tiene que …., tenemos que,  tenéis que, tienen que

8. Ser = IDONOT = Identification, Description, Origin. Nationality, Occupation, Time

9. Estar – LEFTI = Location, emotion, Feeling, temporary, -ing

10. soy, eres, es, somos, sois, son

11. estoy, estás, está, estamos, estáis, están
12. deber = must,should, to owe
devolver = to return a thing
volver = to return to a place

comenzar = to start, to begin
empezar = to start, to begin

13. ¿Cuándo? = when
14. ¿Cómo? = how
15. ¿Qué? = what
16. ¿Adónde? = where (as in where are you going? Key word ir, voy, vas, va….)
17. ¿Dónde? = where (location) (key word estoy, estas, esta….)
18. ¿Porqué? = why
19. ¿Cuánto? = how much, how may
20. ¿A qué hora? = at what time
21. ¿Qúe hora es? = what time is it
22. ¿Cómo te llamas? = What is your name?

25.  what's an infinite = verb that has not been conjugated ex; COMER, BEBER
26.  what does it mean to conjugate a verb? = drop the ending and add the appropraite ending depending on the subject pronoun
27.  what are the subject pronousn - yo, tu, el, ella, ud. nosotros(as), vosotros(as), ellos, ellas, uds.
28. Study possesive adjectives, mi, mis, tu, tus, su, sus, nuestro(a), nuestros(as)
