The Topic Exploring Light and Color: Persistence of Vision and Optical Illusion Introduction Sometimes your eyes play tricks on you. A person’s perception of something results from a combination of things. Visual images, estimates of distance, direction and position do not depend alone on what “the eye tells you.” It also depends a great deal on your prior knowledge or past experiences and on relationships of one thing or another. The Task Your task will be to explore light and color; specifically, “persistence of vision” and “optical illusion.” Your team will be comprised of two members who will gather information about one of the task topics and in the process become an expert in that area. Each member must write a summary of their research and complete the experiment and then give a brief report to the other member of their team. The Process 1.First you will be assigned a team partner. 2.Next, within your team you will decide which topic each member will research. 3.Each member will then gather information for their topic from the list of resources above. 4.Each member will complete the experiment for their chosen topic. 5.Each member will answer the questions specific to their chosen topic. 6.Each member will report their finding and demonstrate the hands-on activity to their partner.
