The Spring Intramural Program will begin on Tuesday, April 3. All programs are $48 and will run for eight weeks unless otherwise noted. Intramural applications are due by Friday, March 30. Unless he or she is notified, your child should assume that he or she is in the program(s) selected.
6th Grade Homework Club
Dates: Tuesdays, 4/3 - 5/29
Ms. Dengos
Open to all 6th grade students, Ms. Dengos’ room
Come spend an afternoon with Ms. Dengos and get a head start on your homework for the night. Whether you need organizational help, assistance with that problem that is stumping you, or simply a quiet place to work, you’ll leave homework club with a sense of accomplishment. No enrollment limit. 6th grade students only. Fee $48.
Knitting and Crocheting
Dates: Tuesdays, 4/3 - 5/29

Open to all students; Ms. Malone's room
This activity is for anyone who has knitted or crocheted before or would like to learn. We do several projects including scarves and hats. If you have needles and yarn, please bring them to the first meeting. Enrollment limited to 10. Fee $48.
Game Design
Dates: Wednesdays, 4/4 - 5/29 *(2:10 - 3:10)

Open to all students; Computer Lab
If you’ve ever been playing a computer game and thought there was something missing, here is your chance to do something about it. The Game Design Club will allow students to use Game Maker 8.1 software to create their own computer games. Enrollment limited to 24 students. Fee $48.
Guys Read – A Guy Only Book Club
Dates: Every other Wednesday starting 4/4 *(2:15 – 3:45)

Join Medfield High School student Brendan Corrodi and Ms. Caprio for a book club geared towards guys’ interests. Club members will choose what books to read from a selection of literature that appeals to male readers. Please note the club will meet five times for hour and a half sessions. Meetings will be every other week. The dates are 4/4, 4/25, 5/9, 5/23, and 6/6. Enrollment limited to 20 students. Fee $45.
Gals Read – A Girl Only Book Club
Dates: Every other Thursday staring 4/5 *(2:15 – 3:45)

Join Ms. Caprio for a book club designed by girls, for girls, covering topics that interest girls. Group discussions and activities will be the focus of the meetings. Please note the club will meet five times for hour and a half sessions. Meetings will be every other week. The dates are 4/5, 4/26, 5/10, 5/24, and 6/7. Enrollment limited to 20 students. Fee $45.
What’s Cooking at Blake?
Dates: Thursdays, 4/5 – 5/17 (6 Sessions)

Do you enjoy the creative art and science of cooking? Are you hungry for an after school snack? Come on down to the consumer science room and prepare your own tasty meals and treats! Recipes will be determined each week by the students, so bring your ideas and your appetite! Please note the increased enrollment cost covers the expenses for supplies for the recipes students will be making. Enrollment limited to 20 students. Fee $60.
Walk in the Woods
Dates: Thursdays, 4/26 – 5/31 * (6 Sessions) (3:00 – 4:30)

Open to all students who are interested in learning about nature. Our spring focus is vernal pools, ponds, and marshes. During our walks, we will locate and study vernal pools in hopes of finding salamander and frog egg masses. In addition, we will explore the depths of the pond and investigate the interesting insect life that lives beneath the surface of the water. Lastly, we will explore marsh habitat in hopes of locating such beautiful birds as the wood duck, belted kingfisher, and Baltimore oriole. Our quest this spring will lead us to fantastic discoveries and offer students better understanding of the importance that vernal pools and marsh habitats have on the diversity of animal and insect life in Medfield. Enrollment limited to 24 students. Fee $54.
Team Dodgeball
Dates: Fridays, 4/13 - 6/8

Open to all students; Blake Gym
Come play Team Dodgeball, open to all boys and girls in grades 6-8. The focus will be on team competition and fun, not individual skill development. Enrollment limited to 60 students. Fee $48.
