There is a great exhibition on Darwin at The Museum of Science

                             BIOLOGY HONORS SECTIONS 1 and 5 and 6

APRIL 23-27

Early in the week we will complete chapters 3, 4, and portions of 5.
Mid-week: Test
Later in the week we will begin human body systems

Ecology Test  on Wed or Thurs.

The test will include all of chapters 3 and parts of chapters 4 and 5

Vocabulary cards for sections: 3.1, 3.2, 3.3, for 4.1 put the first 2 key concept questions on a card, 4.2, 4.3 biome and microclimate only, 5.1 exponential growth, logistic growth, carrying capacity only

"Oldies but Goodies" review questions may be part of this test.

You will need your book and notes for this test.

We will likely have a large quiz on chapter 15 on Friday.
Vocabulary cards for ch. 15 will be due on Friday.

~ Re-read pp. 381-6.
~ After reading answer the following: 
1.  What does Descent with Modification mean?
2.  What 4 criteria are used to determine if an organism has a more recent or more distant common ancestor?

WEDNESDAY  Feb. 28, 2007

~Read pp. 368-72 on evolution.
~Make vocabulary cards for the section.
~Create 1 True/False question per paragraph from pp. 368-72.  You should have 10 questions.  Write these on a fresh sheet of notebook paper following the day's class notes.
~Answer the checkpoint question on p. 371
~Answer #2 on p. 372

~ Prepare for a reading quiz next class.

TUESDAY
~Draw a 2n=10 cell going through the stages of meiosis.  Use a separate sheet of paper that is folded in 8 boxes.  Use as many boxes as you need.  Label each phase and any significant occurence in a phase.
~Place the definition of meiosis in one of the boxes at the end.
~Plan for a THURSDAY TEST on chapter 11.1 - 11.4
~Have index cards of all the vocabulary words ready to hand in on THURSDAY.
        - Index cards MUST have your name on the first card.
        - The cards MUST be secured in a rubber band.
