 Dress Rehearsal/Concert Information/Reminder!!!

In preparation for our concert, we will be having our required Concert Dress Rehearsal on Monday, December 14th.  The orchestra is to arrive in the BHS Chorus room by 4:15.  There is an exterior entrance to the chorus room (to the right of the lower gym doors on the football field cul-de-sac) where students should enter the building.  We will begin rehearsing at 4:30 in the high school chorus room and then proceed to the PAC where we plan to complete our rehearsal at 6:00.  Students will be dismissed from the front of the BHS PAC at that time and must have a ride home.

Students are to arrive for the Winter Concert on Tuesday, December 15th by 6:30 to tune (concert begins at 7:00).  (Performance Attire Guidelines are below).  We will meet in the BHS cafeteria to tune and then give our performance in the PAC.  After performing, all groups will be viewing the remainder of the concert.  Upon the concert's conclusion, students will go to the cafeteria to take equipment and wait for parental pick-up.

****The dress rehearsal and concert are heavily graded portions of the marking period grade.  Failure to attend will result in a 20% drop in grade for each missed portion (a total of 40% of the 2nd MP grade).

Homework Guidelines

All students are expected to be able to perform the weekly assigned music selections by the following lessons.  Each student will be required to individually perform the assignment for a grade at that time.

Each student must do his/her part in preparing for the weekly lesson.  Each student should practice as much as necessary to perform the assignment at a superior level.  Practice times will be varied due to individual abilities.

All members are to strive for a superior level of excellence in their performance at all times.

Practice your performance and perform your practice!

Extra help is available if you ask for it in advance.

If you need to contact Mr. Noonan, please do so via email (mnoonan@shsd.org).

Performance Attire:

Students are asked to dress appropriately on the night of the concert. Black bottoms and white tops. Boys are asked to wear dress pants, dress shirt, tie and shoes. Girls are asked to wear a dress or skirt/pants with a blouse and shoes. No jeans, tee shirts or sneakers please. If these garments are not in your wardrobe, do not buy new clothes (unless you want to do so). Please make the appropriate substitutions. As explained to the students in class, they may substitute a dark color (gray, blue, brown, green) on the bottom, a light color (cream, beige, eggshell, off-white) on the top, boots or black sneakers if necessary.

You can play some games in the activity section or visit some of the useful sites in the links section.

Practice and have fun with music!
