HURRICANE, STORM, AND WEATHER SAFETY:
This page contains activities, information, and links to help you learn about the above topic.
Hurricane Katrina was devastating and not just in New Orleans. Why was it such a tragedy? Could the losses have been reduced? This is why we’ll be learning about Hurricanes, Storms, and Weather Safety. The more citizens know about the dangers of weather, the better communities can respond to events.
We could have a hurricane, a tornado, hail, a blizzard, and severe thunderstorms right here in Wethersfield, but we’ll also go over tips to keep you and your family safe when you travel.
The link to the National Weather Service (part of NOAA) can provide you with the best overall weather information “hands down”.
These pages are supplemental. You should pay attention in class, take good notes, seek extra help after school when you need it, do your homework, and study with all the different types of materials we use.
Remember to be responsible and use "Web-Common Sense". If a link has changed and is no longer the appropriate site I suggested, back out of it and let me know. Surf Responsibly!
