Welcome to Mrs. Bunting's class page! This is the place for you if you want to find out what's going on in class or get extra practice! ***Upcoming Events*** Coming soon! Math In math, we are starting to study patterns, functions, and algebra. This will be the last set of new skills that will be taught before the Math SOL test. Reading All students should be reading for at least 30 minutes per night. Reading should be a daily activity. Talk to your children about their books or have a family real aloud. In class, students are reading novels, AR books, and stories from the Scott Foresman reading book. On Mondays, every student will have a new list of vocabulary and spelling words for the week listed in the “Family Times”. Every Friday, students will take spelling and vocabulary quizzes, along with an open-book reading test. **If students should ever forget their workbook at school, the website where you can find the reading workbook online and print the pages is listed below in the "Useful Links" section. In the same section, there is also a link for the weekly Family Times. Social Studies We have completely finished the social studies curriculum for 5th grade. During the fourth quarter, we will focus on math and reading remediation in preparation for the upcoming SOL tests.
