This course gives students an understanding of the fundamental principles of business operations as they relate to the functions and tasks associated with owning and operating a business. The legal responsibilities and requirements of business in such areas as business ownership, contracts, buying, selling, employment, consumerism, and business liability will be covered. The students also gain an understanding of how our criminal, civil, and juvenile court systems work. Business Law & Ownership is a practical course for all students, especially those interested in careers in legal professions or business. This course stresses subject matter of great importance to each individual regardless of one’s plans for the future. In today’s world, it is extremely important for all individuals to know what his or her rights are as well as his or her duties in contracts, bailments, and with law enforcement and the courts.
This course involves lecture, notes, vocabulary, and case studies.
