We had a great time at the Pioneer Program. A big thank you to our famous Milford South PTO. If you haven't joined PTO, it is never too late.
Help
Many of you have asked how you can help in the room. Please send me the days and times that work best for you. I will try to work out a schedule by October 1, 2001.
Math
Please, please, please work with your child on addition and subtraction math facts at home for about 10 minutes each night. We are getting to the point that counting on our fingers takes too much time. You may want to buy or make flashcards. Many computer games help, along with some internet sights.
Reading
Please try and find some time to listen to your child read during the week. This practice helps him/her perform in the classroom. It also helps you see how skilled he/she is getting at reading.
Spelling
Our focus this week is on adding -er and -est. Our list follows: smaller smallest larger largest

Wants and Needs
We are in need of some packs of Wrigley Gum. It is sold in multi-packs of 10 five-stick packs. It would be great if you could send in a ten pack. We use it to study 10's and 1's. It is a big help in subtraction.
