Careers in Human Services
COURSE DESCRIPTION: This course is a study of the many careers related to human services and the family. There is a shortage of human service/health care workers in Central New York. This course will try to encourage and inform students about this area and connect them with work and college study. Students will learn job skills, career communications, characteristics of children, adolescents and adults with whom they will work. Interview experience, resumes and speakers will be a part of this course. The general role of human service agencies will be explored. The student will study the needs of individuals and families, and how human service agencies help them fulfill those needs.
MATERIALS NEEDED
1. one folder with pockets
2. one large 3-ring binder (OPTIONAL)
3. blue or black pen
ASSIGNMENTS: Place all assignments in class folder by the due date. This is your responsibility. YOU WILL NOT BE REMINDED TO HAND IN ASSIGNMENTS.
