Come
to this website to play games. This may
help you review for a test, get more practice with a concept, or even prepare
for the CRCT.
We have also
listed useful links. You can bring in
information to share with the class or use this information to help you with a
project during the year.
Here’s a fun
way to get some keyboarding practice at home.
We have included a link
below to the webpage called LET’S TYPE. It has a ton of free typing
games, downloadable charts, software and more. It is recommended that 3rd-5th
graders at SHE get keyboarding practice, but we need your help at home too.
What can you
do at home to help your child?
v
READ! Read with your
child, to your child, read aloud----just READ!
v
Read a variety of fiction
and nonfiction—not just a chapter book but also a magazine article, recipe, letter,
etc.
v
Practice multiplication
facts nightly for 5 minutes.
v
Check his/her agenda
nightly and sign it.
v
Help him/her with time
management. If you know there’s a test in 2 weeks, start studying a little each
day.
v
Help your child
study. Review notes and vocabulary with
your child.
v
Encourage your child to
ask questions if he/she doesn’t understand something.
v
Make sure your child gets
enough sleep each night and eats a good breakfast.
v
Try to start off the
morning on a positive note. It will help your child have a good day at school.
Encourage your child to read a little bit EVERY
DAY! Reading every day is the best way to improve fluency and
comprehension!
