This is the main page of the Chapman assignment.

On this page, there will be daily assignments and activities to assist you in successfully completing the cumalative test at the end of the week. However, there will be a short a 10 question quiz at the end of each lesson which will assist you in mastering the objective. In addition, questions from the quiz will make up the cumalitive test.

California Teaching Standard 12.4: Upon the completion of this block of instruction you will be able to understand the unique roles and reponsibilities of the three branches of government as established by the U.S. Constitution in terms of:

1. Objective One: The Executive Branch- Eligibility for office, lengths of term in office, and provisions set forth by Article I of the US Constitution.

2. Objective Two: The Legislative Branch- Eligibility for office, lengths of term in office, and provisions set forth by Article I of the US Constitution.

3. Objective Three: The Judicial Branch- Article III of the US Constitution as it relates to the specific powers and limitations including the length of term in office, and jurisdiction of the Supreme Court.

4. Objective Four: Understand the Foundations of American Political Thought, how the principles of the Declaration of Independence justified American independence.

5. Objective Five: Understand the differences and similarities between the Declaration of Independence and other documents on government (e.g., the French Declaration of the Rights of Man and Citizen, John Locke's Two Treatises on Government).
