Discussions for Internet Security
Internet security is a very popular topic today. There is an entire career field just for this topic. This lesson introduces the ideas and concerns to you and you will learn about implementation in future lessons. Consider the following as you work through this lesson and prepare to discuss in class:
1) What type of security issues do you need to be concerned with as an Internet user?
2) What type of security issues do you need to be concerned with as a Web designer?
3) Why do you need to know how to prevent these services and tools from operating?
4) Given what you have learned about in previous lessons concerning ethical issues, what steps should you take as a Web designer working with your customers?
5) Have you ever subscribed to a listserve? What would be some advantages to a listerve? What would be some disadvantages?

Use your text material and the Internet to research and prepare to discuss the following:
What are some concerns about downloading music from the Internet? Do you use Limewire or Napster or another program to share files? Do you think it is a big deal sharing music files? How much money does the RIAA say is lost in revenue to the artist every year from sharing music files? Should files such as music be freely shared over the Internet? What about movies or software applications?
