Good morning 2A! Today we're going to meet some famous heroes from Greek Mythology. You're going to read about the lives and times of the following characters -
The Labours of Hercules.
How Theseus defeated the Minotaur.
The travels of Odysseus.
You are asked to read the sheet of paper given to you very carefully and follow the instructions on it.
Once you have the 'Mythweb' site on your monitor, read about each of the Greek heroes named above and then decide quickly which of the heroes or the myths you prefer.
A) You will then write a brief composition or report. In it you should talk about:
1. Why you chose your hero or myth - what did you like about him and the other characters or scenes? Give examples from your chosen myth.
2. Who your own heroes or heroines are in real life? For e.g sporting heroes, pop stars, actors etc. Explain why they are heroes to you.
B) Imagine you are a famous reporter for the 'Mount Olympus Times' and have been given an exclusive interview with your chosen Greek Hero. Think up some questions to ask - What juicy information would your readers like to know about them?
*Your report should be approx one and half pages*
To be submitted at the end of Thursday's class 17/5/01.
