Course Objectives Students will develop an understanding of science/math and how we relate it to the real world. Methods of Instruction Student discussions, videos, group work, power point presentations, and projects Grading System Quarterly Grades • Tests- Will count as 200 points (or 2 quiz grades) • Quizzes- Will count as 100 points • Daily Work ( Homework & Group Work)- Will be counted as a quiz grade Required Materials • 3 section composition notebook and notebook paper • Textbook • Pen/pencils Class Rules • Obey School Rules • Obey classroom rules: - Respect yourself, others, and the school - Follow directions - Stay in your seat - Talk when acknowledged - Be in class when the bell rings ready to begin; this means books open, notebook out, and in your seat. Class Procedures • Bring all required materials to class • Take clear notes everyday and keep them in your notebook • Be prepared to listen and respond to class discussions • Work quietly on daily work or group work when given an assignment Students are rewarded for following rules with an extra activity time. If rules are not followed, your student will receive a warning, followed by silent lunch and finally a phone call home and loss of the extra activity time. Thank you for your support.
