College Financial Aid Seminar

Wednesday, November 19 at 7pm

Saint Viator High School Auditorium

College Financial Aid: How to Get Your Fair Share is the topic of a presentation to be held at Saint Viator High School on Wednesday, November 19 at 7pm in the Auditorium. This informational Seminar is presented by Susan Daley of College Planners, Inc., specializing in college financial aid planning. Their primary objective is to help families qualify for as much financial aid as they are legally entitled by employing specific financial aid planning strategies. Interested parents of freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors are encouraged to attend this free seminar.

INDIVIDUAL MEETINGS WITH STUDENTS!

I will be meeting with each member of the class of 2012 during the 1st semester. The purpose of the meeting is to meet the student, go over grades, share information about the importance of a good GPA for college, and generally just to check in with the student. I am slowly working my way through the alphabet (as of November 11 I have met with 160 of the 243 freshmen) and will get to your child as soon as possible. If your child needs to meet with me before our scheduled meeting, please have them stop by my office at any time. They do not need an appointment to see me. If parents have a specific concern that needs to be addressed sooner, feel free to contact me and I will schedule a meeting with your child. If they have any concerns that arise after we have met, they can also stop by my office at any time. I hope they will be comfortable coming to see me when something of concern comes up.

PARTIES! PARTIES! PARTIES!

As students are getting more comfortable with one another and being invited to parties, I would strongly urge you to be vigilant about where your child is going and who he/she is with. Students sometimes begin experimenting with things that are not good for them during the freshman year. I urge you to contact other parents when your child is going to be at their home. When everyone is checking on what the kids are doing, there is a better chance that students will make better decisions

EVERY STUDENT IS REQUIRED BY STATE LAW TO TAKE THE CONSTITUTION TEST. I RECOMMEND TAKING IT AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

Constitution test information can be found under useful links below! EVERY FRESHMAN IS REQUIRED TO TAKE THE CONSTITUTION TEST! I would STRONGLY encourage every freshman to take the test during as soon as possible to get it out of the way. It is probably still fresh in your minds from junior high. Please don't procastinate on these. This is a graduation requirement.

The next test date is December 9 with packets due on December 2.
